Lift

The Lip Lift allows to raise the upper lip permanently, preserving a natural appearance and giving a more youthful appearance. It is a suitable technique indicated for any age, but, in general, for aesthetic reasons, the need usually arises after 40 years of age, when the distance between the base of the nose and the lip begins to increase.

FAQ
What is a lip lift?A lip lift is a surgical procedure that shortens the space between the nose and the upper part of the lip, known as the "nasal philtrum".

The procedure increases the amount of visible pink tissue (Red Lip ), which makes the lips look larger and more pronounced. It also increases visibility of the upper central teeth which shows when the lips are at rest and smiling.
Am I a good candidate? It is a good option for people who want to add height rather than volume to their lips, and also for people who want to show more of their upper teeth at rest and in a smile, when the distance between the upper lip and nose is adequate.

A lip lift may be a good option for older people who want to reduce the space between their lips and nose. With aging, this space tends to increase and can make the lips look thinner.

You are not a good candidate if...
You don't have much space between the base of your nose and the top of your lip (usually about 1.5 centimeters)

you are a smoker and are unwilling or unable to quit during the post-surgery healing period (about 2-4 weeks)

It's a good idea to talk to your surgeon if you have diabetes or any other condition that affects your blood's ability to clot, or if you have oral herpes.
What types of lip lift exist?Types of lip lift
There are several types of lip lifts. It is important to know the types and techniques so you can have an informed discussion with your surgeon about which one is right for you.

Direct lip lift
A direct lip lift, sometimes called a gull-wing lip lift, creates a more defined lip line.
A thin strip of skin is removed from just above the upper lip and the skin is pulled up, creating the illusion of a more pronounced vermilion (the pink part of the lips).
This procedure generally leaves a scar in the upper lip area, it is generally used in cases of reconstruction or to remove biopolymers

Subnasal lift
subnasal lift is one of the most common lip lift procedures.
A surgeon will make an incision that is usually hidden along the base of the nose where it is less visible. The incision is often made following the shape of the natural wrinkles between the nose and upper lip. Raises central and lateral lip.

Central lip lift
A midline lip lift is similar to a subnasal lift . But only a small central resection is used. It shortens the space between the nose and the lips through an incision in the lower part of the nose.

Lip lift at the corners
A corner lip lift is sometimes called a "smile lift" because it gives the face a more smiling appearance.
It is done by making two small incisions at both corners of the mouth and removing a small amount of skin. Some people will get this along with another lip lift for fuller lips.
It is an option for people who feel that they have lowered corners.
How is the postoperative? It is important to keep the area clean, since bandages are not applied.
It is essential to take care of the diet: only soft foods in the first 24 hours, and then a general diet. But cleaning wounds 3 times a day with alcohol or betadine.
